Aston Villa: Villa dismiss Vassell talks

Aston Villa chief David O'Leary has moved to dismiss reports which have suggested Darius Vassell is a target for injury hit Manchester United.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted that he could be ready to entice another forward to Old Trafford and is thought to be an admirer of the pacey England striker.

With Villa intent on landing a striker of their own, James Beattie, there have been whispers that Vassell could be lured away from Villa Park.

However, O'Leary has moved to deny that Vassell may be leaving the Midlands.

Vassell is one of them players. He will play crap then in a 5 min spell he will be awesome and bang in a goal. Saying that he has played better for England than his club lol!!
