Newcastle United: Jenas proud to lead newcaslte

Jermaine Jenas has insisted he will not shirk the issue at Newcastle.

The Magpies have had a torrid season by their own standards and the disgruntled Geordie faithful have made their feelings known to chairman Freddy Shepherd, manager Graeme Souness and the players.

Jenas was handed the captain's armband during Alan Shearer's absence due to injury and he relished leading out the team in front of a packed St James' Park.
