Portsmouth are reportedly in talks to sign Panathinaikos' out-of-favour goalkeeper Konstantinos Chalkias. Pompey boss Velimir Zajec appears to be
using his contacts at his old club to strengthen his Fratton Park squad and has sized up Chalkias.
The Greece international, who was part of the Euro 2004-winning squad, has fallen out of the first team picture with Panathinaikos due to a bust-up
with coach Zdenek Scazny. Chalkias has been told he no longer figures in the club's plans and he can leave before the transfer window closes this
month.
