Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is hoping a trio of star names return for next week's mission improbable if his side are to complete a remarkable
UEFA Cup comeback. Boro were handed a footballing lesson at the start of the second half as they conceded three goals in the opening 20 minutes to
leave them staring at their exit from Europe and humiliation in the first leg of their last-16 tie at the Riverside.
But they are clinging onto a lifeline afforded them by goals from Joseph-Desire Job and Chris Riggott in the final 11 minutes, although now have to
win by two clear goals in next Thursday's return at the Estadio Jose Alvalade if they are to reach the quarter-finals. McClaren feels if Ray Parlour,
Mark Viduka and George Boateng are available then there is a chance of the club continuing the adventure they have enjoyed this season.
