Not trying to be funny but isn't that Ma and Pa Kettle on your whiskey bottle? Well if there is no smokin' in heaven then I'll fit right in. We all know there will be fruit of the vine there! But for now I gave up smokin' and drinkin' cold turkey back in '96 and '98 respectively. I find going through life sober challange enough.

...ahh, so you like Trout fishing Bob?? Or is that a Salmon??

Anyway...I grew up in one of the best Trout Fishing areas of the world, the Lake Taupo area right here in NZ.

Had a beautiful river about 50 metres over the back fence...where Trout of around 6lb were common place...even once landed an 11lb Rainbow jack...and this river ain't big at all. Fishing was damn good...ya could go down, catch easy 5-8 good sized trout (when the Bag Limit was 8) before going to school...

...in the local Sport Shop window is a 32lb Rainbow landed in one of the local rivers too

damn 32lb!!

I don't like trout fishing - I love it! I catch mostly trout, referred to as 'steelhead' in these parts. They're more closely related to Salmon than they are to other trout (such as brown). We get a few Salmon though too. They swim up the rivers from Lake Erie - and I live close to the lake and a few rivers. It's great fun! Our bag limit is 2 - but I tend to only keep the larger, older ones. 10lbs is common. I caught one that was close to the state record a few years back - I was out on the river later than I wanted to be (had to work early the next day) and hooked it on my last cast - took 50 minutes to bring it in.
