Italian full-back Paolo Vanoli is about to leave Rangers, BBC Sport believes.

The former Parma and Fiorentina defender has been negotiating an amicable release from his contract and will be allowed to leave in January.

Vanoli is third choice at left-back behind Gregory Vignal and Michael Ball, whose own Ibrox future now looks close to being secured.

i dont think they will miss him if he goes, i think at one point he was a ok player at parma, but it aint helped him being here. scored one of the best own goals i have ever seen too.
