Tom Soares is close to signing a new deal with Crystal Palace, quashing speculation that he could sign for Liverpool or Fulham in the summer.

The teenager has made his mark at Premiership level as The Eagles continue to battle against instant relegation.

"Tom will sign a new deal within the next day or two," revealed Palace boss Iain Dowie.
