Coca-Cola Divisions: Svensson out for 3 months

Southampton have been dealt a crushing blow with the news that Michael Svensson is likely to be out of action for at least another three months.

The Swedish defender is an integral cog in Saints boss Paul Sturrock's plans but he has not featured since March.

Svensson went under the surgeon's knife back in March but has been told he requires a fresh operation.

The club are clearly concerned for the well-being of the 28-year-old who faces a race to feature this side of Christmas.
