By Anthony Evans: The hotly anticipated clash of styles between the silky southpaw skills of Ronald 'Winky' Wright and the venomous power of Felix 'Tito' Trinidad - a fight which came close to getting scrapped over a purse dispute - has thankfully been salvaged.
According to industry insiders the fight is now a done deal for mid-May although New York's Madison Square Garden is no longer a lock to host the event. Wright, the undisputed ruler of the junior middleweight division, will move up six pounds and engage Tito in a non-title 12 rounder.
Just one week ago, this bout looked all but dead in the water after Winky baulked at the purse offered by Trinidad promoter Don King. The reigning WBC and WBA champion wanted the $5million purse King offered for this same fight last year while King was now offered in the region of $2.5-3.5million.
