Boxing: Witter eyes world crown

Junior Witter vowed to use Friday's European title defence against Krzysztof Bienias as a springboard for a shot at the WBC crown in 2005.

"I'm going to challenge for the WBC title next year," said Witter, who values boxing's input on his life.

"People will look at that and think that's what boxing is all about for me.

"But however I desperately want to be a genuine world champion, there is more to it. I also value boxing for the person it has made me."
