New IBF super middleweight champion Jeff 'Left Hook' Lacy says he wants to fight Joe Calzaghe next.

The 27-year-old from Florida claimed the vacant crown with an eighth-round stoppage of Syd Vanderpool on Saturday.

"Calzaghe's one of the best super middleweight champions," said Lacy, now unbeaten in 17 professional fights.

US TV network Showtime are known to be keen to arrange a fight between Calzaghe and Lacy, who represented his country at the Sydney Olympics.

Yeah I think Lacy may be getting ahead of himself here. He should defend his belt a couple more times and get some seasoning before he calls out Calzaghe.

Well Tarver did it. He called out Jones and then he Knocked him the F*ck out! So it can happen.

No contest Tarver has more experience than Lacy and is a better fighter...

Joe needs a career defining fight, this would be a backwards step.
He's after Hopkins, would love to see that one!

I don't think hopkins would bother with Calzaghe since he's not a big name in the states. Hopkins is looking for the money making fights now, and frankly there's no money in a Calzaghe/Hopkins fight

I agree there wouldn't be, but I'd love to see it!

Hopkins will probably fight either Felix Sturm or a rematch with Felix Trinidad. Frankly I would love to see B Hop fight Sturm first with the winner taking on Tito.

Gives Tito another warm-up fight before as well.
