Robin Reid believes he is ready to bounce back into the big time at the expense of IBO super-middleweight champion Brian Magee on Saturday night in Belfast.

Reid, who lost a controversial IBF title fight in December to Germany's Sven Ottke, believes Belfast hero Magee will be in for a reality check at the King's Hall.

Magee has worked his way up to the top 10 in the WBC ratings, defeating the likes of fringe contenders Jerry Elliott and Hacine Cherifi along the way and promoter Barry Hearn has told him his meeting with Reid will be "a career-defining fight".

"Maybe Magee thinks he's ready for world-class now but I think he may be in for a surprise.

"If he thinks beating Hacine Cherifi was a big thing I think he's kidding himself a little," said 33-year-old Reid.
