My scorecard wasn't anything like the official scorecards. But then again, I had an excuse.

I got distracted, not by the specter of a $50 million megafight looming in September, but by something much more tangible — and unfortunately — much more real.

And I'm not talking about low-budget ring card girls, either. Yes, something even worse than that.

Oscar De La Hoya's, shall we say, rather robust beltline.

Maybe that's why the three judges scored De La Hoya's bout with Felix Sturm the way they did. Perhaps they were as distracted as I was, thrown off their games by De La Hoya's frighteningly soft physique.

De La Hoya spent weeks training at Vero Beach, Fla., then showed up in Las Vegas displaying the muscle tone of your average sack of laundry.
