Harlequins lock Geo Cronje will miss the rest of the season after an operation on his damaged knee.
The South African international, who arrived at The Stoop back in November, worked tirelessly with the medical team to rehabilitate this injury.
However, following various consultations with the club specialist it was agreed that the only way forward was for the operation to go ahead.
That took place last Wednesday and Cronje will now follow a planned rehabilitation programme that will hopefully see him return to playing rugby
around September.
In view of this, Quins will not be taking up the option to extend his contract beyond May 2005.
