Newcastle Falcons director of rugby Rob Andrew has called on Newport Gwent Dragons coach Chris Anderson and flanker Jamie Ringer to apologise for comments they made in the build-up to Sunday's crucial Heineken Cup game at Kingston Park.

Ringer had accused Andrew of "arrogance" and criticised the Falcons for not attending the post-match meal after Newcastle's 10-6 Heineken Cup win at Rodney Parade back in October.

Dragons coach Chris Anderson was quoted as saying: "Some comments were made [after the game]. We weren't happy about what Andrew said, but it's a long season and next week is a good opportunity to shove it in his face."

Andrew claimed today the comments were "completely out of order".

"Having read what they have come out with this week, there is no doubt that they owe our fans and the club a full apology, as they were completely out of order," he said.
