Australia is considering resting star spinner Shane Warne from its tour match against Mumbai, preferring to shield him ahead of next week's first Test against India.
In 1998, Sachin Tendulkar dominated Warne on the way to a century for Mumbai, and then went on to have a huge series with 446 runs at an average of 111 as India easily won.
And while Tendulkar looks unlikely to play in the first Test in Bangalore because of an elbow injury, Australia will reportedly keep Warne out of the firing line in Mumbai, preferring not to expose him to a possible early onslaught.
