New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns is confident he will be fit to face the West Indies in Saturday's NatWest Series final at Lord's.

Cairns missed the final two group games with an ankle problem - including Thursday's wash-out with the Windies at the Rose Bowl for which he had not been selected.

But the former Nottinghamshire player was making optimistic noises shortly after play was finally abandoned at 4.30pm after yet another downpour.
