WWE.com has announced that there will be a second WWE Diva Search just like last year. They are accepting applications from eligible females starting now.

Think you have got all the qualities of a Diva? WWE is seeking beautiful, glamorous, physically fit, talented and charismatic women to participate in the $250,000 RAW Diva Search. As part of the Search, WWE will host a casting call event where judges will select eight finalists and two alternates based on who best exhibits the qualities of a WWE Diva.

Last year's Diva Search produced a slew of new WWE Divas in winner Christy Hemme, Maria, Candice Michelle, Joy Giovanni, Michelle McCool and Amy Weber.

-- Several wrestlers in WWE are pretty ticked off that WWE is doing another $250,000 diva search. At a time when money is down, it does not sit well with many of the wrestlers that another person will walk off the street, with no wrestling experience, and be given such a large contract.

-- Christy Hemme does get around well with people backstage and is said to be respectful, however she is still making a lot more money than most of the wrestlers, and hasn't paid any dues to earn it. This obviously does not sit well with certain wrestlers.

World Wrestling Entertainment issued the following press release this morning:

The Search For A New RAW Diva Has Begun

STAMFORD, Conn.-- April 18, 2005--World Wrestling Entertainment® is seeking beautiful, glamorous, physically fit, talented and charismatic women to participate in the second edition of its popular $250,000 RAW® Diva Search. The contestants will compete for a one-year WWE® contract worth $250,000 and the unparalleled entertainment opportunities that follow.

Last year, fans voted Christy Hemme(TM) the winner of the $250,000 RAW Diva Search. Hemme now stars every week on WWE's Monday Night RAW, the most watched regularly scheduled program on ad supported cable. Rounding out an incredible debut year, she has appeared on the cover of Playboy, numerous national talk shows, and was featured in WWE's biggest pay-per-view event of the year, WrestleMania® 21.

All of this awaits the next diva contest winner. Potential Divas can enter the contest at wwe.com by e-mailing an application and two photographs (head shot & head to toe shot). Candidates must be at least 20 years old and from the continental United States. All entries must be received by midnight (PT) Friday, May 13.

WWE will host a casting event in the Los Angeles area in early June where judges will select the eight finalists based on who best exhibits the qualities of a WWE Diva.

This summer, the eight finalists will appear on RAW. WWE fans will vote for their favorite Diva contestant. The contestant with the fewest number of votes will be eliminated on a weekly basis until the winner is crowned. Voting will take place exclusively on WWE.com.
