Three-times Grand Slam winner Jennifer Capriati powered her way into the fourth round with a straight-sets win over France's Nathalie Dechy.

Dechy handed the seventh seed an early advantage, double-faulting in her first service game on a near-empty Court One.

The 25th seed broke back in the fifth game, but Capriati ultimately proved too strong, taking the first set 7-5.

From then on the American took total charge, dominating Dechy from the back of the court to take the second 6-1.

"I think it was a good win," said Capriati. "The first set was a test but I stuck with it and I played well in the second set and really got going."
