Man Dies After Winning Vodka-Drinking Contest

MOSCOW (Reuters) - A vodka-drinking competition in a southern Russian town ended in tragedy with the winner dead and several runners-up in intensive care.

What a dummy!! Not like nobody could see that happening or anything. Personally labeling this guy as the winner just doesn't make any sense either. 1st runner up apparently was smart enough to outdrink everyone else and stay alive at the same time, that's your winner right there!

that's Darwinism at work, folks! incedentally, a kid at my university died a few years back after doing 21 shots on his 21st birthday, and now his parents send a card to every student that turns 21 that basically says "please don't drink and die".

Ya, you're right about water. It can be harmful when drinking too much at a normal time, but also when an athlete drinks too much water when doing say a marathon or something else calling for extreme exertion can die also, because of electrolytic imbalance.
