"Britain's PM Tony Blair launched plans for a multibillion dollar nuclear missile defense system Monday. He claims the future would likely hold hazardous threats from "rogue" regimes and state-sponsored terrorists. Blair argued that regimes such as NK and Iran are a proof that Britain still needs nuclear weapons."

"In these circumstances, it would be unwise and dangerous for Britain alone of any of the nuclear powers to give up its independent nuclear deterrent," the British prime minister said. Labour was committed to unilateral nuclear disarmament until former leader Neil Kinnock scrapped the pledge in the late 1980s. However, Blair could win the vote with the help of the opposition Conservatives.

I thought the trident nuclear weapons were fine as they were, and he is gonna spend about 20 billion on these new nukes, i find this a little suspect
