Forget whether justified or not thats not the question of this thread.

Insurgencies are not uncommon and have been dealt with throughout history. Insurgencies are not sporting much of a track record either. The north vietnamese didn't win untill they marched a huge conventional army into the south.

So whats the deal with iraq?

Is it possible that Iraq is being used to refine weapons and tactics for dealing with mid east enemies who cower among innocents. Is Iraq a training camp for a future larger war in the mideast? Thousands of live targets "terrorist or wannabe terrorists" are flocking there, which is great in its own. We are seeing what they are and aren't capable of.

A huge real live fire exercise?
Is this the war which brings the US from a cold war stance to a warm war "flare ups and small theater" stance?

You could also say that we are seeing what the US army is and isnt capable of. Im sure the thousands of families of the dead allied soldiers and Iraqi civilians would be interested in your comment that the US might be using Iraq as an exercise or training ground, im sure that makes them feel a whole lot better. I guess if they are using Iraq as a training ground the same could be said for the insurgents
