Iran's Supreme Leader has come out in favor of American election results, calling them 'A victory for Iran', and a referendum on Bush's hawkish policies. Khamenei went on to praise recent war games held by Iran, and condemned Israel's Gaza debacle.

"Since Washington's hostile and hawkish policies have always been against the Iranian nation, this defeat is actually an obvious victory for the Iranian nation."

The Democrats wrested control of both houses of Congress from the Republicans in this week's mid-term elections, partly because of voter concern over the war in Iraq.

Khamenei, a senior cleric in power since 1989, has the last word on matters of state in Iran's complex system of Islamic rule, while the government, under President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in charge of day-to-day decision making.

There it is from the horses mouth. Our enemies prefer Democrat's. I think the situation in the Middle East will become more complicated now, not less. Our hands will be tied and the Iranian's know it. This will push Israel into a 'Do or Die' situation. Which could light the world afire!

That's a pretty short sighted commentary, you've even got "allies" that prefer to have the Dem's controlling Congress.

What a crock.

Iran is going to claim any setback for the current US administration as a "victory"...
If George Bush slipped on a banana peel and twisted his ankle, the Iranians would proclaim it "a great victory for ther Islamic Republic!"

To the original poster: why do you hate America?

Edit: Baiting removed.

This is true, but our 'allies' aren't the ones I'm worried about!
