Man gets 51 SLAPS for raping a girl!!!

This man's punishment in India was 51 publics smacks for raping a deaf nieghbor. I know there is a cultural difference from what I'm used to, but a slap to the face for rape seems light.

Thats the decision by the local tribal elders, if the Police get involved ...

Police inspector C.N. Singh said officers were still investigating her complaint.

"A case will be registered only if police find proof that the woman was raped. We are inquiring from children who were playing in the field then," Singh said.

If convicted by a state criminal court, the man could be sentenced to death.

51 slaps, eh? Would it be 52 if the little girl was a couple of years older?
Can her accuser choose the person to do the slapping?
I'd pick Mike Tyson to do the slapping! Yep, after 51 Mike Tyson slaps, all the kings horses, and all the kings men, wouldn't be able to put his head back together again.
Now there's an idea!
