Title misleading - most of the scientific world is of the belief that a virus is not "living" hence there is no way it could be brought back to life or be "dead" for that matter....

Now - this is nifty and scary at the same time - we humans are not ready for ancient bad things, as our immune system has no clue about these little monsters should they come back out....

Viruses are probably the most fascinating thing going in the bio world - the ultimate parasite/symbiote depending on how you look at it....

Whist there is debate on the topic whether or not viruses are living, I wouldn't go as far as to say that most of the scientific community believe they are not living. I think you will find that most actually believe them to be living.
