americans - are you aware of this...

according to this article, as of jan 14th 2007, all u.s. citizens will need to obtain 'clearance' if they wish to leave the country for any reason.

the title questions whether "we're all prisoners now", so as citizens of 'the land of the free', how do you feel knowing that someone has to 'approve' of you leaving your country for any reason?
