When writing, let's say a book, and posting snippets here on ATS, what kind of "protection" is there? In other words, if I post something that I've written, is it open domain? Or is there something that protects it and makes it my property similar to a copyright since I've posted it with an accurate date and time of said posting?
I would be very interested in hearing from those "in the know".

Thank you as always,
lombozo

Each post you make has a unique copyright link that specifies the Creative Commons deed ATS imposes and shares with you.

As defined in our Terms and Conditions, you grant "nonexclusive rights" to ATS which means that you can pursue publishing your work on your own, while we can also. However, in the past we have removed certain member submissions when it has placed their personal commercial ventures at publication in jeopardy.
