Marduk -

How would one would remove all the "fiction" from this forum? Do you suggest that we know what is and what isn't? I suspect there are a great many things that there isn't any current proof for, that is indeed true. There may even be a chance that some 'crackpot' has come up with the idea, people such as yourself call them ignorant for being misinformed; then one day something comes up that no one expected, turns out they were pretty close. (Keep in mind i'm not talking about this subject exclusively, as I have no real opinion on atlantis)

Now, I'm not agreeing with anyone in particular in this thread. It just seems to me that you think you know exactly what went on over the last 10,000 years.

I would advise the use of a common sense filter
and always consider the source (thats a cardinal rule). you can't learn anything from Blavatsky on this subject and you can learn everything from Plato

people such as yourself call them ignorant for being misinformed

I have never done that
I call people Ignorant for pushing something which has already been disproven. In this case you have:-
Atlantis circa 9500bce
and
clocks capable of measuring 20 minutes past the hour are a common era invention
the possibility that the Atlanteans had such a clock is possible (if they existed) but the ONLY source on Atlantis I.e. Plato doesn't mention one

so what does your common sense tell you about this question now

It just seems to me that you think you know exactly what went on over the last 10,000 years.

I have never claimed that at all
in fact I have always maintained that I don't care what happened since 2000bce because its not my area of interest
its like yesteday man

you know I only ever meet two types of people on these forums
1) those who like me and know what they're talking about
2) those who hate me and haven't got a clue whats going on
time to decide which category you feel most comfortable in Nathan

why was everyone in every ancient culture around the world using a winged disc to represent their chief solar deity
apparently none of these cultures on different continents were in contact with each other
yet they all take a disc shape put two legs on it and give it wings
why

becasue they observed birds flying, and they thought the "glowing circular object in the sky" was also flying?

just doing it very slowly without flapping its wings much

maybe if the birds were on fire as well

knock off the sarcasm; you really lose credability in your argument.

ill try this again, more direct this time. ill try to think like an ancient.

birds fly becasue they have wings. they use those wings to fly in the sky. the "bright glowing orb" is in the sky. therfore, it must be flying, and in order to be able to fly, it must have wings.

but clearly it doesn't have wings

the oldest sun disc is the symbol of An
when hes drawn as a human he is never shown with wings
the same goes for Amun/Ra of Egypt and Quetzlcoatl of America

also there are a whole host of other obects seen in the sky that are never shown with wings
the moon
stars
etc
it wasn't sarcasm
it was humour
lighten up will ya
