Don't mention the president: how Republicans hope to stay in power

The repubs are seriously on the ropes already. The dems only need a handful of seats to gain the house and senate. I expect the repub losses to be crushing.

As a result, I predict impeachment for Bush and Cheney over Iraq.

That sort of surprises me, I always thought that the majority of
republicans were behind Bush no matter what.

I hope the Demcrats gain control of the congress, true they have
their negatives, but I agree with them more.

I honestly never thought about the impeachment thing with a
Democrat controlled congress.

The impeachment thing is an aside. It will preciptated by Iraq. In any case, according to the Guardian report, Bush is getting murdered and his party is going down with him. The repubs are trying to squeek something out of it, but they know it's gonna be a landslide. It's every every man for himself now. The repubs are not working as a unit. The survivors will probably vote along with dems for impeachment. I predict an uncompfortable 2 years+ for Bush and Cheney.

It's payback for the last election. Even the all but the most ardent supporters of Bush realize they shouldn't have 'stayed the course' with him. They know they've ben bs-ed to about Iraq and it's a disaster.
