Israeli Envoy: Let's enhance ties with 'Yellow Race

"Israel and Australia are like sisters in Asia," Tamir said in an interview with Haaretz during a visit to Israel this week. "We are in Asia without the characteristics of Asians. We don't have yellow skin and slanted eyes. Asia is basically the yellow race. Australia and Israel are not - we are basically the white race. We are on the western side of Asia and they are on the southeastern side."

This comment came from Israeli Ambassador to Australia Naftali Tamir. This is an appalling and extremely insensitive comment to make. Australia is a multi-cultural country. If he makes those kinds of comments about Asians, one can only imagine what he says about the Palestinians (which are of course the same race as he).

Not surprised, to be honest.

Says it all really, doesn't it? And it's not the first time either....

Their Ambassadors aren't the most tactful people thats for sure. One Israeli Ambassador to Sweden vandalized an art exhibit in a Swedish art gallery because he disagreed with the subject matter.


This guy is just telling it like it is for him and the people he represents. They are just yellow people with slanted eyes.

Does this man really have a diplomatic portfolio?Id like to see it.
