The Israeli newspaper, Yediot Ahronot, has reported that Israels Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, met secretly with senior Saudi officials 10 days ago and
some reports say that he met with King Abdullah. The sources for the story were anonymous Israeli officials who would not detail where the meetings
were held or the exact content of the talks, although, they were generally reported to revolve around Iran's nuclear program and the
Israeli-Palestinian problem.

Since Israel's war against Iranian-backed guerrillas in Lebanon ended last month, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan have been saying now
is the time for a new push in peacemaking to prevent future conflicts.
"The prime minister was impressed by the moderate, positive stands that the Saudis expressed during the summer when Israel was fighting Hezbollah,"
the Israeli official told The AP.

If the reports are true that Olmert met with senior Saudi officials it might signal a possible peace accord with other moderate middle-eastern
nations, and also might indicate that Saudi Arabia is serious about brokering a peace initiative between Israel and Palestine.
I will keep a close eye on the news for any updates to this story but we may be seeing a very big shift in middle-east politics.
