I was a member of ATS some time ago and I recently rejoined after seeing how much the site has changed. But when did this change occur? I remember when ATS was pretty much the information segments(If you son't know what these are, look on the left side of the screen and there are a variety of topics)and now the emphasis is on the discussion boards. Don't get me wrong, I love the changes, but why and when?

I put this post here because I figured the most oldtimers would be on this board

Not qualified to answer as an old-timer.

I got here through reference to the Bulletin Boards six months ago, in 3-4 topics of interest.

I have read much of the well-researched original news/info content, but I am more into the here and now of the government conspiracies that allow corruption to run rampant and the planet to be destabilized.

And I have a growing respect for a large number of members, and being able to interact with them is more appealing than a static library.

Well since I have been here (not sure how long) I have thought that pretty much all the changes have been beneficial and good ideas

Why? Because the world is changing, everything change, it's a normal processus of life. Only static stuff don't change, and being 'mentaly static' is not really good.

When? Maybe the world was created in 6 days, but all the changes on ATS certainly didn't happened over one night. I started visited in 2001, and the site kept changing from then to now. I don't want to say it's one of the 'main cause' for all the changes, but I noticed that after 9/11, things seems like moving a lot more around here, and everything seemed to be 'accelerated' a little.

I think RATS and ATS in general are getting more a more quality posters, I hope this trend continuers to climb. I think the surveys are working and there has been a lot of feedback on making this place better.

The change, or what alot of people now refer to as the evolution of ATS, is a continually ongoing development.

Indeed, the change from a selection of HTML pages and a small discussion board into what you see today has taken years, but it is definitely for the better.

ATS attracted such a large audience and this audience developed into a community of regular visitors. It reached a point where I no longer had the background knowledge nor time to create the numerous pages people wanted. This was solved by the integration of the discussion board into the site as a whole.

Now, instead of people relying on myself to provide rather bland dedicated pages, thousands of people across the world contribute and create continually updating topics covering everything imaginable. ATS is longer limited to one person to add information, anyone and everyone can!
