Halloween and You

Ok, so we're entering the Halloween season, and I thought I'd start up
a thread about it, so I came up with a question thread.

-So, when it comes to Halloween, what do you think of it?
-Do you celebrate it, if so how?
-Do you buy/wear a costume?
-What's your opinion on the banning of Halloween parties in
public schools?
-Do you have a favorite Halloween story that happened to you that
you'd like to share?



And to answer my own questions, to start us off..


I think Halloween is great, I like it.

Yes I celebrate it, I go to a place called Carlton farms on the 25th of
October, and spend an hour or two just enjoying being outside,
and choose 2-3 pumpkins from an enormous patch they have that they
grow in.
When it comes to the 31st, I have the pumpkins carved and outside.
I give out candy to the kids.

Have'nt worn a costume since the last time I went Trick-Or-Treating,
which was when I was 14.
Thinking about getting one for this year though.

I think banning it is absolutely ridiculous, and just shows that Political
Correctness has gone way to far.

I love Halloween, it's loads of fun!

I celebrate at the local pub and eat loads of candy. Costumes are mandatory!

I don't remember ever having a Halloween party at school, but that was a looong time ago. We all dressed up, but I don't think that we ever had a party at school. Why is Halloween being banned? Why are you having parties during school?

Favourite Halloween story: Sorry, that one isn't family friendly. I was dressed up in a pink bunny costume at the time, but that's all you get to hear.

Why is Halloween being banned?

Because of political correctness, apparently Halloween offends Muslims,
extremeist Christians, and who knows (or cares) what other groups.

Why are you having parties during school?

Because we do lots of work the whoe year, and like everyone else,
we need and deserve a break.

I had no idea that Halloween was offensive. How can anyone be against candy?

We did have some activities to get a break from school, but I can't recall any parties. Sometimes they had (oh my God, I'm old) sock hops at lunchtime. Is that the kind of thing you're talking about? Lunchtime activities? Afterschool activities?

We always had dances at Halloween, but we never had a party that was held when we were supposed to be in class. They were in the evening. If it's outside of school hours, then there shouldn't be a big deal about it. These people who are offended can choose not to go.

Honestly, I'm not sure why it's considered offensive, probably some-
thing about demons or some other such nonsense.

No, the'yre parties in the classes.
It's not an all day party, but some classes have parties.
And sometimes when it's a half day, since the classes are so short,
it actually is a party day.

though it seems.



When it comes down to it, I think people need to put up with it, I mean
stuff offends me alot, but I don't say anything about it, or try to get rid
of it.

I'm confused on that point to.

Anywho, I love Halloween, and I celebrate it by eating as much candy as I can physically stuff into my body, without any negative effects(It's a suprisingly large amount).

I used to go trick or treating, but I stopped doing that when I was 10. However, I do have many an insidious Halloween plan that I can use when I have my own house.

I'll leave a bowl of candy lying out on my front porch with a sign that says "Only take one, or you WILL be punished."

If some idiotic teenager tries to take more then one, all I have to do is press a button and the two stone pumkins by my front porch vomit flame, which traps the taker while I speak over an intercom, "Put EVERYTHING back!".

I know it's evil, but I'd have sooooooo much fun.

I'm 25, and Halloween is still my favorite holday. I really don't do much of the trick-or-treating anymore, but I do go around to a few houses with my girlfiend because she's a little younger than me and is really into Halloween as well.

One of my favorite pre-Halloween activities is going on those "haunted hayrides" or haunted houses. We drive all over South Jersey looking for those!
