The president of Somalia escaped an assassination attempt by a suicide car bomber out side the Parliament building in Baidoa. The blast and gun fire
that followed killed eleven people including the president's brother. No one has claimed responsibility at this time, however Baidoa is the only
town controlled by the government. If the attack is linked to an Islamic militia, it could cause peace talks to fall apart. Yusuf's bodyguard's
chased suspected bombers killing six, the five others that were killed were in the president's convoy.

"It was definitely a suicide bombing," Foreign Minister Ismail Mohamed Hurre told The Associated Press in Nairobi, Kenya, saying it was clear from
the state of the attacker's remains.
The bomb exploded outside the parliament building where President Abdullahi Yusuf had given a speech about 10 minutes earlier, said Mohamed Adawe, a
journalist who witnessed the blast.
Yusuf's bodyguards chased suspected bombers, killing six of them in a gunbattle. The five other dead — including the president's brother — were in
the his convoy, officials said.

It has been speculated for some time if the militant groups in this part of the world have backing from the more well known and well financed Islamic
Terror groups. There is still no known connection but one must look at what is happening. The car bomb, suicide bomber is a trademark of theirs.
The materials to make a car had to come from some where. That in it's self does show they had support from some where. So what the question is now
is where did the support come from? I doubt if any link will be made. Who ever is supporting this group is most likely to good at covering there
tracks.
