Cuba Mobilizes for U.S attack says Raul castro

Raul Castro is under the impression that the U.S has plans to invade cuba and therefore they are mobilizing troops as we speak. However, the u.s gov says they have no such plan...what is the deal? apparently cuba is feeling the terror vibe as well.

There´s definitely something going on. However, I seriously doubt it whether the US has such a large scale invasion in mind. More likely I´d say the US has plans to clandestinely overthrow the current communist regime on Cuba, since now would be the perfect timing to do so.

For decades US governments would like to see a political reformation based on democratic principles (read: what the US defines as ''democracy'', other countries might have an other ideology of the democracy definition). While Cuba is not a real threat to the US, Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela are ''trench mates'' as Ahmedinejad explained it several weeks ago. Don't be surprised if Iran shortly announces they are in possession of nuclear weapons, Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela would all three very strategically important locations for Iran to station nuclear weapons. While I am not impressed by US and Zionist propaganda that Ahmedinejad is a lunatic only willing to destroy democracy, or rather, actually launch nuclear weapons, it would be an opportunity to gain international political influence by positioning nuclear weapons on these locations.

Today, CNN Int. reported four US spied had been captured in Venezuela.

CARACAS, Venezuela - President Hugo Chavez said Friday that Venezuela has caught four people spying for the U.S. government and has turned them over to the Americans.

Speaking at a campaign rally, Chavez referred to the four after reading aloud a news report about the U.S. naming a "mission manager" for Cuba and Venezuela to oversee U.S. intelligence efforts for the two countries.

"These are signs that the empire doesn't rest," Chavez said, referring to the U.S. "The plan to try to destabilize us has already begun."

He predicted the U.S. could try to discredit the results of Venezuela's Dec. 3 presidential election, in which Chavez is seeking another six-year term, or could try to provoke violent unrest around the time of the vote.

U.S. officials have denied trying to overthrow the leftist Chavez, who is Cuban President Fidel Castro's close ally and friend. President Bush's government has repeatedly labeled Chavez a threat to democracy.

Chavez warned that Venezuelans should be prepared for a "war of resistance" in case U.S. troops one day invade - a possibility Washington calls preposterous.

He also accused his opponents in the presidential race of being "the empire's candidates," and he broke out singing at one point, "Yankee go home!"

He said the Venezuelan government has followed the activities of U.S. spies closely. "I know where they go out to eat 'reina pepiada,'" Chavez said, referring to a Venezuelan dish of "arepa" corn cakes filled with avocado and chicken.

"In a way, it's an honor that they put us alongside revolutionary Cuba" in naming an espionage point man for both countries, Chavez said.

"How are you, Fidel?" he added, saying he believed the ailing Cuban leader was watching the televised speech. "Long live Fidel!"

America isn't going to do anything. This display is entirely for internal consumption. Since the end of the cold war Cuba couldn't be more irrelevant.

but in addition, i see the mobilization as a device to have hyper control
and restriction & surveillance of the population.

If any anarchy or rebellion was to grow from grass-roots popular thought
into any sort of action...
...it will be effectively staunched by taking the head of the household away
on military maneuvors, and under the thumb and observation by layers of authority

who wants to be weeded out, singled out as a 'traitor'?

i agree with number 23 as well. it just seems so out of left field. almost laughable...if there wasnt so many other things going on.

While I agree Bush doesn't have any plans in mind to invade Cuba, I am pretty sure they'd like to see someone else taking over the power on Cuba, which applies also to Venezuela.

Besides, if Cuba really was of no importance anymore to Bush, he would neither spend any time on keeping speeches about it nowadays.

I sincerely doubt that we’ll invade Cuba. Militarily speaking, Mr. Bush—I refuse to call him “President” Bush: He doesn’t even represent the people’s interests; he represents Mexicans above Americans—is too focused on the Middle East to engage a petty country that possess little or no threat to the United States.

Moreover, if the regime in Cuba was overthrown, there would hordes and hordes of illegal immigrants flooding our nation, escaping the economic hell-hole they created, bound to rape the honest American tax-payer of his money, just to pay for their free health-care—something that we don’t get, solely on the basis that we’re law-abiding citizens and they’re not—and then we’d have to deal even more overcrowded schools, plus a lower living-standard which their gargantuan numbers bring. Besides, illegal immigration—and legal immigration, since the 1960s when the leftist trashed our old, reasonable immigration laws and replaced them with theirs—poses a threat to our national and ethnic identity as Americans and as English-speaking people.
