More than 100 penguins are to be transported to Antarctica next month. The penguins were stranded on beaches in Brazil, and now Brazil's air force and navy are going to send them home. The penguins will be airlifted to a naval base in Antarctica and set free.




Reuters: Military to airlift penguins back home


Brazil's air force and navy will transport more than 100 penguins to Antarctica next month after the flightless birds were stranded on Rio de Janeiro beaches.

A plane carrying equipment for an Antarctic naval base will take the penguins to Brazil's southernmost region next month, an air force spokesman said Monday.

Yes, Id have to agree. That would cost them tens of thousands to do that. I remember when a yacht got lost somewhere around here, and we sent one of our warships to go help. Cost hundreds of thousands of bucks. Good on ya Brasil!


But I still reckon the socceroos should have beaten you in the group rounds . . .
