Yep, that was so obvious that those guys were a set-up. Cops just standing there watching crime happen and doing nothing. All the other protestors telling them to stop and even the news media on site saying it and filming the whole thing.

It's too bad they were such Peaceful Protestors, cause they out numbered those masked thugs and they should have shut them down and left em' laying in the streets since the police just stood there. But just like in the video, they would have just been arrested and gassed and beaten down that much faster while the Thugs just get to walk away and go back to thier "Pre-Arranged" Safehouse.

That makes you think what would happen if those "anarchists" got their way and made things worse by turning the whole crowd.

In perspective I see it as an isolated incident, but could this be repeated again somewhere else?

Well, I should hope it wouldn't ever happen again cause it was a Horrible Display of how Corrupt the whole system is and how even the Local Police Force is totally under the control of Incompetent Leadership and stand around like mindless robots when they know they should act. To Protect and Serve my A$$!! Protect and Serve the Criminals apparently but certainly not innocent people or uphold the law.

If it does happen again it will probably be done a little more sneaky so it at least looks real instead of a setup. This was just as bad as the WACO B.S. The Hired Thug Anarchists and Bought Off Police Force got a bit too much Media Time on this one and the whole Propaganda Play was exposed.

People need to wake up and start seeing this stuff and stop listening to what the "Major Network News" Liars and shelling out as the Truth. Or atleast know that the tiny bit of Truth they do speak is certainly not the whole story by any means!!

Ah...the good old Seattle WTO riots. Yes, I was there.

I had just got back from vacation in Cali. I could not get to work because of the downtown situation. So I went to a bar instead. Sat down, had a drink. (was at Zaks 5th Ave, you know, that little dump near the space needle...)
Anyway, I at first, had the inclination to join in the protests. I had been thinking of it for a while. But alot of those fools out there were bored college kids with too much time on thier hands. I cheered the guys from the unions on tho, they were out there marching orderly and constructivly without looking or sounding like fools. Unfortunately, no one noticed.
Overall, despite the dreadlocks, tie die, and patchouli stink, generally, the protesters were being relatively behaved. Some were being disruptive, like blocading roads and refusing to move, disrupting traffic. There were lesbians wrapping themselves in duct tape. It looked like a circus.
Anyway, I dont know exactly when it happened.. But eventually, I noticed the streets emptying out you could hear shouting, glass breaking, ect. Cops and bullhorns. I figured it had gotten ugly. Next thing you know, they were closing of streets, and we were kicked out of the bar, told that everyone had to leave. I ws pissed. The protesters were getting tear gassed. (some of the stuff was blowing around, giving non protesters reaction. It didnt bug me, cuz in the army, they tear gas us for fun, we get used to it).
Anyway, from what I saw, the protesters, a few, were egging the cops on. Like, I saw them show it on the news, but I remeber, some of them walking within a few feet of a police line and playing hackey sack in front of the cops. If they dont want to get thier asses kicked, thats a dumb way to avoid it.

Anyway, we went home, but watched the rest on tv. I went back the next day to work...still a mess, downtown seattle under martial law. What really got ugly was the third day, when they drove the protesters up to capitol hill, and from there, they went hog wild on anyone who walked. Friends of mine who simply woke up and looked outside thier windows had cops pointing guns in thier faces and telling them to go the # inside. People who had noting to do with the riots were getting capped at by national guard and cops with rubber bullets. One guy i used to hang out with had to go to the doctors because the the rubber bullet he was hit with. His crime was riding his bike home from work at Hollywood video.
There was indeed police brutality that we all saw. The cops were attacking people who were eating in restaraunts, having drinks, or driving home. National guard was there too. It was a mess! couldnt go downtown to party the whole week, it was all locked down. ID checks if you were in the zone, to confirm that you live there.........
As for the anarchists, its hard to say. I seen a couple of em, they looked like typical Central Oregon riff raff. Seattle does have ssholes like this, who basically go around starting # for no reson, simply to start panic and chaos. For example, new years eve that year, Y2K, some asshole was alking down the street at 12 midnight. we smiled, said hapy new year.the dude stopped, deliberately rammed himself into my friend, and said, # you #. My buddy, stunned, was like, huh? The instigator was not drunkor high either, he kept telling my friend, hit me mther #r comon, hit me......this is actually prety common in whats called capitol hill.
Anyway, its plausible the anarchists were ffrom eugene, were your typical riff raff, they didnt look entirely odd to me, the few that i saw. Looked like punks.

Skadi,

LOL I knew you were there.

Couldn't resist eh?

I know people that were there too.

The rumour is that the Black Block were the anarchists at Seattle and may have been agents with the CIA.

Note lately they haven't been seen as much at demos and what anarchists there have been are more the rabble type than the organized types.

My theory on the purpose of using the anarchists to discredit the left was the fear of the elites that the two extreme groups would cooperate in demonstrations.

I suggested this awhile back and it was taken to heart at high levels but then the Black Block started up. At first it looked good as they were very agressive and garnered a lot of media attention. But soon it appeared that they had their own agenda regardless. This caused the left to retreat back to their 'non-violence' stance which they prefer from past history (excepting unions of course).

You can count on it NEO! If there is a civil disturbance in Seattle, Im always somewhere lurking nearby!

But yeah, theres always possibilities. Perhaps even infiltration of anarchists by the gov, to be directed to go to Seattle and whip up the storm.

But youre right about a union of the left and right. You see, the WTO protestor crowds consisted of traditional enemies. I mean, people who would normallyspend thier time toilet papering each others headquarters.

But no......you had christian groups, environmentalists, gays, unions, rotary clubs, patriot types, even bikers opposing the wto. Conservative busines owners even showed up. Talk about the end of the world! LOL.

And, interestingly, Clinton was in full support of the wto, that rat # even graced our already chaotic logging town with his presence to give his pep speech in favor of it, and further cause traffic and enforcement problems.

Id like tosee that video, i wish this comp could run real player...nostalgia.................
