Volunteer Projects - Want Some Points In This Forum?

Volunteer to do a historical/background summary and mini-investigation post on important but lesser-known political figures in current events, such as the leader of Hezbollah. Anything along those lines.

There are so many players in world events today, and this forum is admittedly dry, so responses may not be all that fruitful, but you will get a 1500 pt bonus for a quality post here.

What kind of political figures and do they have to be American or international and related to the on going war or in general politics?

Any of the above, give it a go!

For the record, if everyone hasn't figures it out yet, Ann Coulter will be ignored!

P.S. They are not limited to current crises, etc.

This is a great idea. There are certain key figures that suddenly pop up in the middle of important ongoing events, and many of us are like, "Who the hell is that? What's their history? What's their role in all of this? What are their allegiances?"

Another example might be Castro's brother, who recently took over the reins of Cuba temporarily. Suddenly this figure that nobody knows a lot about might become a world player overnight. And what about the new Israeli PM who took over after Sharon's fall to illness?

Projects such as these will be a great contribution to ATS and will assist us all to gain a deeper understanding of the wheels and nuances of international politics.
