I've been very interested in politics in Asia. Specifically the partition of India, the Opium Wars, tensions between Japan and North Korea and the Middle East conflicts. Below I will illustrate and write about a plan I have for a new union.

What is it called? The People's Progressive Union. What will the joint currency be called? The People's Credits or (PC).

Which areas would this encompass?

China, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, East Timor, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Indian, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Gaza, West Bank, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Sir Lanka, Maldives, and Morocco.

The formation of this union will solve many problems going on in the world. The first problem that this union will solve is the tensions between Pakistan and India. This union will educate the masses about the real cause of partition, British interference.

Next, this union will solve tensions between Mainland China and Chinese Taipei. Taiwan will be reunified with Mainland China through this union, while still maintaining autonomy.

By inviting Japan into the fold, tensions between China and Japan will ease and steps towards peace will follow. Japan will finally apologize for autrocities during World War II and China will begin a path of forgiveness. This union will also educate people on the interference by outsiders and the causes and results of the Opium Wars, spearheaded by British companies and the Russell Trust Company.

North Korea and South Korea will be reunited and the demilitarized zone will crumble. Foreign troops will be asked to leave. By joining this union, life will improve and strict authoritarianism would be lowered. In addition, foreign military operations taking place in Japan and South Korea would be asked to leave. The defense of Japan would be the new union and not any other foreign force.

The next problem that this union will solve is the Kashmir disputes. With China, India, and Pakistan all being included into the union, there will be cooperation and peace talks under way. India and Pakistan would begin disarming their nuclear weapons programs and the Mutually Assured Destruction theory imported from foreign nations will cease to exist. Both India and Pakistan would now be on the same side militarily.

The tensions between Israel and the rest of the Middle East would be solved as well. With the West Bank and Gaza both joining this union, any attack on the aforementioned autonomous regions would be an attack against the union which would include India, China, Japan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon etc...

Israel would not be able to get away with bombing targets outside of their borders. In return, the People's Progressive Union would put a peace keeping force around all of Israel to prevent terrorists from attacking Israel. This force will be made up of troops from the union's membership. There would no longer be any attacks on Israel.

To illustrate what this union would look like on a map I would like to show you: www21.homepage.villanova.edu... (please excuse me time to get the map up due to uploading not currently working)

Overall, the People's Progressive Union would be a major ally to peace throughout the world and put a stop to tyrannical imperialism and regime change.

Thats one heck of a Union. That would encompasse nearly half the World's population. Not to mention most of the World's known oil reserves. With that would come enormous influence and strategic power.

Im interested on the nuts and bolts of your theory though. How would those long standing disputes be settled simply by being in the same Union? Im interested to know what you intend the Union to specifically do to solve them.

Great post

The first step is to bring China, Japan, and India into extensive talks.

The problems between China and Japan need to be the first problems resolved. There should be a major information campaign for tolerance, apology , and forgiveness. The PRC and Japan need to work together with a series of conferences to stop hatred. The Prime Minister needs to apologize on live television to the PRC for war crimes during WW2. The media companies in Japan and China then need to run several shows highlighting cooperation and forgiveness. Japan needs to allow itself to rely on China as its greatest defense.

Only when China, Japan, and India establish the union can the focus shift to Pakistan. India and Pakistan need to run a multi-faceted campaign to expose the truth of the partition of India and the players involved. When the citizens realize that prior to British domination of the Indian subcontinent, people never categorized each other as hindus or muslims. They were just people. Then there needs to be a series of conferences with major leaders in pakistan and india. Upon Pakistan's entrance into the union, both India and Pakistan can disarm their borders and start reducing their nuclear arsenals.

At this point the Union will consist of China, Japan, India, and Pakistan. With this achieved the focus can shift back to East Asia. This union will invite North Korea, South Korea, and Taiwan to talks. Once achieved, all foreign military occupiers will be asked to leave South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

(more to follow, need to get some things done at the time)
