Gypsy Heritage

I am new to posting, but I am researching the history of Gypsies,in particular Hungarian Gypsies.My Grandfather and his parents,and their parents,making me a 4th generation Gypsy.Their name was Vasko.I have seen photos at a family reunion,several years ago,of my Gr.Gr.Grandmother who was a Gypsy.I am not familiar with any specific Hungarian clans,but I would really appreciate any historical info on the Hungarian Gypsies,or the clans of such.The photos are unavailable to me.I figure that my family came to America in about 1850-1860,but this is just a guess.So if any one can help me to find out ,I Thank You.

are the gypsies some type of secret society or more of a social class?

you might try doing a search here. there was a gypsy related thread
here in SS about 6-8 months ago.
