Happy Thursday morning one & all,

Well, after 30 pages of sifting through people talking about drinking pee and Lance Bass coming outta the closet, it's nice to see that some headway's been made.

One thing that hasn't been brought up it seems is that each of the last few answers are indeed related to each other, i.e.:

carbon-->basis of life
life-->is to live
to live-->is to survive
survive-->zombies "survived" by Helen chanting klaatubaradanikto
klaatubaradanikto-->is nothing but nonsense, and thus related to tower of babel
tower of babel--> ???

Following this line of thought, and w/ the clue of "VMS: to drink ?", it seems like this HAS to be somewhat biblical or ME related.

...and no more drinking pee posts, please?

HH

www.crystalinks.com...

found this site.. it makes sense because it is a manuscript (so it would be VMS: ____) and it hasnt been translated.. so it relates to babel if we are going by that.

i tried combinations of all the listed possible authors of the manuscript and now am trying some keywords throughout the document.. no luck so far

VMS could be "Variable Message Signs" -- those electronic message boards along the highway that warn you of upcoming road conditions or accidents.

tried

ortodrive
nottodrive
designateddriver

and several others. No go.

I'm thinking that it doesn't have to do with that manuscript. If it did wouldn't the clue just say VM instead of VMS? Getting the "s" from the middle of the word manuscript just doesn't make any sense.

Points to ponder:

Does VMS stand for intitials?
Is VMS an acronym?

Why the ':' seperator? Does this deliniate a 1:1 relationship between VMS and to drink?

I'm reading it as VMS means or can be interpreted "to drink"

We can't take VMS and "to drink" by themselves.

You have to think of them together.

The manuscript is widely held as VMS.

Look up VMS on wiki and you will see it listed with the other acronyms.

I think that may be on the right track. It would make sense.

I think it means Voynich Manuscript. Why?

Douglas Adams.

Check out anything about the babelfish. Babel. Tower of babel. Previous answer.

The babelfish is used to translate different languages so that all can be understood by a person of one language (basically something that deciphers something else). Just as in the story of the Tower Of Babel. The Voynich Manuscript, or VMS, is a text with undecipherable text, images, and symbols. An example of something that would use a babelfish to solve.

So I see a defnite correlation here. I've tried

babel
fish
babelfish
bowl
fishbowl

Anyone else?

This made think of: to drink "responsibly".. But then again it doesn't go with the Babylon idea??

Not so sure, since the manuscript has not been decoded. How would we know what "to drink" means in the manuscript.

Just got back and I see I did not miss much. My question still reads just "to drink". I reloaded and it still reads "to drink" and nothing further. So did "VMS" actually show up on the page?

I see that all the previous answers are being retried which is good in case something was not entered right. I'm still half blind from reading and my fingers are bruised from typing in guesses
That new loop thing got me too. They must have fixed a bug.
