If terrorists are let loose to do what they want, they will use that to their advantage...they don't care what you believe about them or not, stopping to believe in them is not going to make them go away...

If I am not mistaken we were all pretty much still deeply involved with Middle Eastern affairs and unethical proxy operations in a variety of third world nations in that time period and the whole time up to and including today. That is what makes fanatical suicidal people angry and fearless to attack, as well as drives the support to them by the victimized nations of our globalization policies.

Even if this issue didn't predate Reagan's little "whoopsies", which it does... by a lot... leading to our involvement in the 90s, particularly our INVITATION by the Saudis... that was then, and this is now.

"Sorry arabs! It's been fun but we're leaving now! Go about your lives! We'll leave you alone from now on!" ... yeaaaah... that'll stop the attacks. Nothing like a good common understanding to end a holy war, right?
