12 foot surges pounded coasts of south america and california today.
They were generated by very powerful low storm that created sea level snow
2000 miles away across the ocean.

A storm surge that built up in the south Pacific has lashed countries along the western coast of central America, creating waves as high as three metres.

I'm a bit confused. Where does it say "California"? There is a lot of miles between "Central America" and California. I also see nothing regarding the snow???

Those storms seem to be common for this time of year in that area.
