(CNN) -- Satellites, pagers, cell phones and electrical grids could be affected Friday afternoon by a powerful stream of energized gas and particles from the sun.

Is this why the weather has been so crazy lately?

i know this sounds weierd but i think this is cool. i have heard of solar flare affecting the earth but never really payed attention i can this time.

I've never heard of this before but I guess it happens all the time

solar flares....not good, i have a portable pda with a 56k connection to bigfoot(a gprs ISP).....problema.

nothing really happened here

Power went out last Friday at the peak of the solar flare action....so....dunno...hrmm....could have been related. Anyone else get x-rayed?...hehe.
