Hello, please can someone tell me how I post a link to a previous thread?

There seems to be some kind of ID number but I can't work out where you get it from!
Thanx

I just copy and paste the link into the thread like this.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

It's in my navigation tool bar at the top of each page I open.

To break it down alittle more, it would look like this:

Text Here

If I wanted to provide a link to Microsoft I would do this:

www.microsoft.com

which would look like this: www.microsoft.com

If I did this,

Microsoft's Website

You would see this:

Microsoft's Website

Make sense?

You can post do a specific post if you wish, something that might be half way down a page. To do this, you need the PID. (Post ID)

Then just type the following:

www.belowtopsecret.com...

http://www.belowtopsecret.com/viewthread.php?tid=212260&page=#pid 2274714

Notice the #pid2274714.. this will direct the member directly to this post on the thread. Not the top of the page.

Yep, that's cool - thanks!

Maybe one day I'll be up to speed with all this, I'm slightly computer illiterate

It comes with experience. Feel free to ask any questions, we all at one point had to ask these questions ourselves.
