Evil is not a "thing" - like a rock or electricity. You can't have a jar of evil! Rather, evil is something that occurs, like running.

Good point, dbrandt.

My take on 'good' and 'evil' is this:

love is the 'good' and it is a force and power--the most powerful thing that exists in all that exists. It is light and truth and it never can be overcome.

evil is the bad, and it is the opposite of love--that is, it is the void and vacuum where love should be but it is just black coldness with varying degrees of negative pressure. It is darkness and misery and all things that are false and formed of delusion. It can never win, but it sometimes seems to be in the lead, sometimes--but a step back toward a bit larger perspective reveals it is just a speck in God's white light of truth and love.

The origins of evil are basically of the very same character that it, itself, is.

When souls are denied love, or even worse, deprived and drained of any that they initially had--evil manifests.

Remember that each kind makes more of itself: therefore negative breeds more and more negative energy and the same is true for love.

So, guys--we've got one thing we can do and that is

MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Evil is a pro-active force that violently opposes Good, not merely the absence of Good.

If it was simply the absence of good in the same way shadow is perceived to be the absence of light, it could easily be extinguished by Goodness, just as shadow is extinguished by light.

Nor is it a passive force.
Evil attacks Good overtly and often via stealth.

Evil is a destructive force where as Good is a creative force.
Good creates without the need for evil. Good doesn't need evil to exist.
Evil needs something to destroy. It needs Good for its existence.
Just as a parasite needs a host.
If there is no host to destroy, the only thing left to destroy is itself.

Evil existed before humans existed therefore humans are not the creators of evil.
Giving a name to something does not mean creating it...
Good and Evil are real active forces not merely perceptional illusions.
Fear and ignorance are products of evil.
No we are not the masters of the universe as many would like to believe...

Point,

Those are excellent points!

There is a insightful, channeled book, currently out of print but still available, that you and others here might want to look into. It is called The Challenge of Evil.
