I'd like to wish all of the ATS moms out there, A Happy Mother's Day.
I never truly appreciated just how much, how important, how wonderful a Mom can be in the development, support and basic emotional well-being of their
children until I lost my own mom in '93. Of course, I was already a grown, independent adult at the time but the loss of my mom was life-changing.
When my mom passed away, I lost so much more than a parent. I lost a friend, a confident (who could be privy to anything that I needed to share) and
someone who was always open and capable to provide the most unbiased advice.
I miss my mom a great deal. But, with her passing, I have come to appreciate the roles that ALL moms play in the development of their offsping.
While I don't want to diminish the role in parenting that father's play, I just want to say that motherhood is certainly a hallowed role in the
development of humanity.
I thank my own mom and I respectfully thank ALL moms for their tireless, often thankless, roles as nurturers and caregivers, teachers and advisors.
