Hey Everyone,
I'm a long time lurker to the ATS boards, and I have been fascinated and impressed with the range of topics that are brought up on a regular basis. Cheers to everyone and thanks!

The reason why I have decided to join the boards finally is to share the sighting that I experienced last night with my sister driving home at 10:40pm.
I just posted this account at nuforc.org, and what I'm about to post is what I wrote there. The main purpose of me writing this, is to see if anyone else saw this object, as it was incredibly close to a major route in Massachusetts.
Also, please take note to my cell phone note on the bottom of the post. Does anyone think I'm nuts, or this could have some bearing on the sighting? I think I'm nuts, but there's way too many weird things out there we can't begin to understand.

Date: 05/06/06

Duration: 8 Minutes
Sighting City: Still River
Sighting State: ma
Sighting Zip: 01467
Sighting Country: United States
Sighting County: Worcester

Shape: Light
Number of Craft: 1, but possibly more hidden

Last night, about 10:30pm, I went to go pick up my sister from her high school film festival. After I picked her up I proceeded to drive on Rt. 110 towards Harvard, MA to bring her to my Father's house.

As I proceeded down the road, I saw a large bright yellow/pale orange light in the sky about 20 degrees on the Horizon, that was far brighter than any planet that should have been in the area of the Northwest Sky. I proceded to drive and look at the moon as a reference point and thought the light was moving very slowly.

This really blew my mind, because I had no idea what this light could be. I broke off of Rt 110, and drove up a large hill towards the "Fruitlands Museum" in Harvard. Since there's a great view of the Northwest sky from this Orchard hill with many lookout points, we had to get a better look. As we pulled in, my sister and I jumped out of the car to watch this large glowing object varying in lighting intensity in the Northwest sky hovering about 20 degrees over the horizon over the prison hospital near the former Fort Devens.

We watched this object slowly move up and down over the lights of the prison hospital for must have been 6 minutes. During this I called my girlfriend to describe what I was seeing and have her call her mother who lives close in the area to look at the sky. My sister also called her friend from her cell phone to look in the sky. As we were watching this object, we noticed lights circling in the cloud cover to the right of the object in the sky. We never saw any definative objects or lights, but there were lights circling in the clouds making very erratic, then circular patterns. There were no spotlights shining up from the ground.

All of a sudden the light disappeared, just like it clicked off. All of a sudden 2 fast flying planes came into the area, I could hear them before I could see them. But saw lights on wings fly fast into the general area towards us, then bank around 180 degrees back towards the area we saw the craft. The planes flew around until we noticed there were no more lights shining in the clouds. We watched the sky for about 10 more minutes and saw nothing so we headed back home. We got home shortly after 11:00pm.

Now ontop of this story, I went to check the call time on my phone to see how long I was on the phone with my girlfriend. There was no record of this call on my cell phone when there should have been. There was no record of this call on my girlfriends phone. Then on a separate line with my sister's phone, she has no record of making her call. I don't know what this means or even if it is a critical piece of the story, but I found it odd.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to your responses!

Unfortunately, we don't own camera phones. I've been meaning to keep a camera in my car at all times for just a situation like this. But live and learn...

Thanks for sharing that, I live right nearby and know the area like the back of my hand. I do suspect it could have been something military, since this weekend was a drill weekend for us "weekend warriors", including some AF types. Could it have been some UAV being flown over the south range? I've never known any to be tested there, but as you never know!

The thing I found odd about the light, is that it appeared to hover, and move vertically up and down very slowly. This thing did not act like a plane. The other thing that I find odd is that as soon as I heard and saw real planes in the area, the light just "clicked off". It very well could have been military, but unlike anything I've ever seen.

I know that reservists train at Devens still even though the base has been decomissioned. I do find it strange that they would be performing strange nighttime operations over a relatively large population.

Also that day, I heard many reports of chemtrails all over the US. Much like reported before military opertations began in Iraq and Afghanistan. Possibly just a conicidence?
