Is this the reason for the Aurora, could the technology within this spy plane build the ultimate bombers of tomorrow?

Capable of Mach 6, possibly beyond Mach 14

Many complain that the B2 is too slow, might this stop their whining?

www.globalsecurity.org...

"Proponents estimate that approximately $140 million would be needed over the next few years to advance several technologies to the point where a $350 million one-third-scale flyable prototype could be built and tested. About $500 million would be needed to develop the technologies needed and build and test a 16-meter-long flyable unmanned prototype. The development cost of full-scaled HyperSoar aircraft is estimated at about the same as spent to develop the Boeing Company's new 777, or nearly $10 billion."

Why aren't we building these?

When is a passenger jet going to get this?

I dont see why we need to? The B-2 was put into operation in 1989, since then one has not been shot down, and most of our bombing targets nowadays are in the middle east, whos technology could not detect the B-2. From a nuclear war aspect, the role of bombers is fairly limited, most nuclear strikes we carry out would come from Balistic missiles, either launched from silos and submarines. With the budget defecit we are currently running it would be foolish to spend that much money on a new bomber program when our current one does the job just fine.

What if money was no question, would this type of bomber be the best thing America could build currently?

When you have a technological achievement such as the B-2, who needs speed. Just like a ninja.. moving in slow, quiet... and then.....

BOOM!
