I have a small metal lathe and mill in my shop.

I purchased a new 4" three jaw chuck and it was sloppy and out of parallel so bad that it was worse than a well used 20 year old chuck.

Took it back and got a Polish chuck which turned out to be very accurate and of good quality.

I'd be afraid their cars would be built with the same lack of attention to quality.

As for the airliner landing, I won't criticize there.
We don't know the wind conditions or what was going on.
Pretty impressive though.

They probably don't have as strict of standards as we do here in the U.S. , too. We have lots of regulations that improve the safety of our vehicles.
